Electric tug?
Are you kidding?
Aren't you supposed to lie on your back and 'walk' the boat through the tunnel?
Well, it is more than 3 miles long!
How long does it take to go through the tunnel? I'm guessing at average speed of 3mph it takes abt an hour and all in pitch dark!!
My Nan used to talk about legging it through Standedge tunnel- I;m sure she wasn't the one doing the 'leggin' LOL
The tunnel is extremely narrow in places so the average speed is not much above 1 mph, so it takes 2 to 3 hours to get through!
